Scotlands airlinks need improving
A survey completed for the Scottish Enterprise board "locate in Scotland" team,
shows that many inward investors appreciate the Scots, Scotland and the
technical pool available to them.
They were disappointed however, by the relatively poor (compared to London) air links.
Of course, London has ensured it has starved Glasgow Prestwick and Edinburgh
of funds to make transatlantic flights carry on an extra hour into congested Heathrow. This has been Westminster policy for years.
The Scottish parliament would do well to persuade more companies to stop
transatlantic flights in Glasgow and improve European connections further,
if the DRI in London doesn't like that, to hell with them!
BA already snubbed Glasgow by halting flights to New York, but again, we all
know how much BA cares for good business practice!
